Our most comprehensive tour yet!
Join Aran Tour Company to visit The Aran Islands and see the Cliffs of Moher like never before – cruise the bottom, walk the top!
Explore the Aran Islands
Departing from Galway’s New Coach Station on Fairgreen Rd at 9:00am, we will guide you south along the Wild Atlantic Way and into the lunar-like Burren region. Once there, we’ll head to the picturesque fishing village of Doolin where you’ll board the ferry* to Inis Oírr (Inisheer) – the smallest and most vibrant of the Aran Islands.
From Doolin we’ll trust you to the safe hands of The Doolin Ferry Company, accompanied by your guide for the 30 minute sailing from Doolin to Inis Oírr. Upon arrival to Inis Oírr, you’ll find that while it may be the smallest of the Aran islands, it certainly has plenty to offer for visitors. The attractions include ancient churches and castles and one of Ireland’s most beautiful beaches, where you can admire Ireland’s Atlantic coastline from a different perspective. You’ll also find a modern playground and several pubs and cafes, lighthouses and shipwrecks all waiting to be discovered. You can spend your time on the island by strolling the peceful boreens, or you can hire a bicycle to cover more of the island, or maybe take a pony and trap and let the gentle way of island life take you to the small corners of this beautiful island.
The Cliffs from below, and the top!
The return journey with The Doolin Ferry Company is a guided cruise alongside the foot of the Cliffs of Moher, a spectacular journey which puts the 214m high, 8km long cliffs into perspective. You’ll get up close and personal with the magnificent sea stacks, bird colonies and even the occasional pod of dolphins!
Upon returning back to Doolin there we will have a well-earned lunch stop at the famous Gus O’Connor’s pub where you can purchase a hearty lunch before embarking on the next leg of the tour – to the top of The Cliffs! As a guest of Aran Tour Company, your tour includes free entry to the cliffs and their eco-sensitive visitor centre. Take a stroll along the cliff edge and consider just how tall the cliffs look from below!
Once we depart the cliffs we will then take the coast road home, following the Wild Atlantic Way back to Galway City. We will makeone last stop at the stunning Baby Cliffs in Ballyreen, where you can walk atop the Burren. Return time in Galway is approx. 7:30pm
